Travel | Sirenis Cala Llonga Resort Hotel Review

Sirenis Cala Llonga Resort Hotel

As you may know, I went for a holiday to to Ibiza with my friend Jodie not so long ago. We booked an all inclusive holiday with Thomson/TUI.

Firstly, before we go onto the review about the hotel, I shall inform you all about the nightmare we experienced getting to Ibiza. We got to the airport at 11:00am to find out our flight at 13:55pm was delayed until 16:10pm. So we checked our luggage in and went through security etc. Until we spent the next few hours we had, browsing through duty free and other shops, as well as stopping for, a not very enjoyable and expensive meal at Burger King at the airport. So while we were waiting the last half an hour before the boarding gate was supposed to open, we sat in the massage chairs. Then the screen said 'Gates open in 5m' which it had said for a good 45 minutes before they said "We regret delays for the flight to Ibiza" We asked an airline agent about what's happened, and it;s due to the hurricane so the plane hadn't long landed.

Finally on the plane with around a 2 and a half hour flight ahead, we sorted ourselves out for the flight and to relax. If you follow me on Snapchat (@isobelceline), you would of seen us take off and land, especially Jodie's reaction as it was her first time flying in a plane.

Once we landed, we went to find out luggage on the conveyor belt, waited 5 minutes, when all the suitcases had been put on, ours wasn't to be seen. Obviously we started to panic, until another conveyor belt started to put more suitcases out. Panic over! There they was! We then headed to find the coach, then wait for that to leave. 25 minutes down the road, we reach a hotel, bearing in mind the driver didn't speak any English, he said "Sirenis Hotel" in a Spanish accent. Bearing in mind there's LOADS of Sirenis Hotels in Ibiza! I kept asking if it was the resort and he said "I don't know, hotel there 5 minutes!" So we hopped back in, went to the other hotel, wasn't ours, told him the other hotel was ours and he said he'd go back. He started to drive OUT of Cala Llonga didn't he!? So I get out of my seat, said are we going back to the other hotel, he said "No" and said "Look, look!" pointed to the paper (we dropped 4 people off at the hotel we first stopped at) and he pointed to the number which said "8" I WAS SO ANNOYED. As there was an older couple that was staying at our hotel too. So the driver turned around after I had a go at him, especially as he was rather rude to us, well me more than anyone else. He should of done his bloody job properly then and checked the paperwork!

Finally at the right hotel, it was 9:26pm Ibiza time (1 hour ahead of the UK), so we had to go out and find food, even though we were staying in an all inclusive hotel! We unpacked and got changed to go and get some food in the small town by our hotel to find them not serving any food except an Italian restaurant called Valentino's and got a pizza that was so gross we ended up throwing in the bin on the way back to the hotel. We then complained about there being no blankets, as it was literally a sheet, so they sent a maid up to give us blankets, she came in with more SHEETS!? I ended up saying it doesn't matter. I hate the fact that there's a language barrier. It makes it so much more difficult to sort complaints out.

The fact that we could hear the lift go off all night as well as people in the corridor talking, singing in their showers (so clearly - snapchat witnessed it!), someone blowing their nose, as well as people's TV's, not to mention people "at it" in both sides of us some nights! So definitely not the quietest or the most pleasant areas to stay in whatsoever!

The view was shocking from our hotel room! All we could see was a tiny bit of the sea, trees and the floor. So we complained about that and everything else so we could have a room change. She said she would speak to her manager.

The best part was the food. That I couldn't fault, except when they had lunch and we rarely found anything on the buffet that we liked and it stank of fish most days, so we mainly headed to the snack bar for a burger and chips. All the food I tried tasted delicious. The English food tasted a bit strange, like slightly sweeter, but in a good way. The alcohol in the drinks...my god...the amount of vodka they put in Jodie's vodka and lemonade was about 3/4 shots worth! The alcohol was so strong! Especially in the cocktails I tried!

The pool and sunbathing facilities were pretty good as they had a fair few sun beds which were shared by the two hotels. It;s good that you can share the facilities in the both hotels too. They even had a gym and Jacuzzi, but the Jacuzzi you had to pay 20 euros for 4 people for an hour unfortunately...The only thing I wasn't keen on with this area was, some sun beds weren't very clean, the pool wasn't always clean with used cups, ketchup packets, leaves etc. Also the Lifeguard was sat on his phone a lot of the time! Not good at all!

Lastly, we were switched rooms to the top floor on the 4th day of being there (we were there for a week). Thankfully it was a better view (picture above) and the wifi was a lot better as it was terrible in the other room - you had to sit in the bathroom for wifi! We also found some of the staff rather rude...Never have I experienced such a negative hotel/ The only good area was the snack bar. As thats where Suneo Club was and their entertainment was brilliant every night without fault! So next time I go on holiday, I will be looking even deeper into hotel reviews and every little detail...Look out for my review about Thomson Airways/TUI as well soon!
