Lifestyle | What Happened In March

March...It was a very eventful month. Including a day in London, The Photograhy Show, Comic Con and many other fun things. It was quite an adventurous one to be truthful and it was a month I honestly really enjoyed, at the weekends mainly, as we all know, work isn't always fun. So let's move on to what fun was held over this month.

March started off with snow, and lots of it! But it didn't stop me from seeing my favourite people. We went for a special meal out at the Farmhouse where we ate ourselves silly with Indian curries, rice, poppadoms and naan breads - definitely would recommend this place if your from Coventry. Especially if Indian food is one of your main favourites for food. It was so nice to see the guys and girls after quite a while thinking about it. We hadn't all been together for a proper meal since Christmas! Along with the delicious food, gorgeous interior, we were also entertained by a magician - you can see what happened in this vlog here.

Next up, me and Adam spent a very long but very much enjoyable day out in London together and saw loads of different sites, went to quite a few Instagramable places and took lots of cool shots. To see exactly what we got up to, you can watch the full vlog here. Within the same weekend, it was Mother's Day, a day where I spent some quality time with my Mum, which is certainly needed and was nice to treat her to a nice roast dinner and lots of lovely treats.

Another eventful weekend included a fair few fun things. It started off with being Press for The Photography Show, which was so good! We were able to chill out with a tea, coffee and biscuits in the Press Lounge, where we also got our passes, a USB with our Press Pack, Show Guide and a voucher for a free camera strap - which is such a cute bohemian one! It was such a good event! Me and Adam were at the event for quite a few hours trying out loads of different cameras, equipment and lenses etc. I even took my GoPro and used that round the show which was pretty fun. I have to say that Canon had the best stand, as they had a beautifully lit floral display you could take pictures of with all their latest cameras. I even took a few shots on my Nikon D3200 camera. We ended the day with a talk by Art Wolfe, who I hadn't heard of before, but admire his work so much now I've witnessed it! He's a man filled with all kinds of amazing knowledge, with a brilliant eye for an impressive shot. Definitely check out his work here!
During the same day, but later on, we went out with my family to celebrate St. Patrick's Day - as I'm half Irish of you didn't already know that. It was such a fun night which you'll see in the vlog from that weekend. The next day was another busy one as we headed back to the NEC in Birmingham for Comic Con. Where I went as Star Wars Sith Mrs Marvel mash up. I was actually quite proud of how it turned out to be honest. I do have to be honest about Comic Con, it's my 4th one now, and I just feel that the love for it has just worn off...I love cosplaying, but the overall feel about the day for me personally has just died out. I used to get so excited about it, yet now, I just don't feel so excited about it. Maybe because I didn't make the effort to be involved in any meet ups or photoshoots, I did individual ones with different photographers, but no group ones like I used to. It just doesn't feel the same. If you've never been before and love all that nerdy stuff, then go as it's a great experience, but as I've basically been there, done that 4 times, I'm a bit bored of it for now. But either way, it was great fun!

On the 24th March, I finally had a girls day out with my two favourite girls, Stacie & Sophie. I hadn't seen them in a few weeks so we planned a day out filled with shopping and lots of food! So we started off having a nosey at the new Canteen in West Orchards in Coventry, as it's been under construction for a few months now and they had a new opening event on. We decided to have a quick bite to eat in Mcdonald's - of course I had chicken nuggets. We managed to get a seat luckily in one of the 4 zones in McDonald's. They've got a new eating place there now too - a noodle bar! There's also KFC, Subway, a coffee cafe - I've completely forgot the name of! There's also the Shake Shack (Love Shack?) which has such nice milkshakes! I really wanted to get a picture with the balloons they were giving out, but they were literally all gone unfortunately, so that was my awesome instagram shot idea gone! Either way, the design of the place is pretty snazzy! Loved the decor in Mcdonald's with the picture frames. It's nice that there's still enough selection there, as there used to be loads like around 6/7 different eating places to choose from, but now there's more seating areas which is always helpful.'

After our little sit down, we (of course) headed down to Primark. I actually put myself on a £25 spending limit - guess who let that go out the window! Even though I said to the girls don't let me buy everything! Oh well, nothing wrong with treating yourself! Watch the vlog here.

I also had my hair redone by my hairdresser Charlotte - find her here if your from the Coventry/Bedworth/Nuneaton area! She's the only hairdresser I trust with my hair! Which was perfect timing as the next day I went to see 30 Seconds To Mars, which if you've got me on Snapchat and Instagram (all links are down below) then you would of seen them too! They were INSANE!! I even bought a band tee as that seems to be the tradition now for every concert I go to!

The last weekend in March, me and Adam had a cute little date night and went to Bella Italia. Now let me tell you a story about Bella Italia...We ordered two Italian Spritz, one elderflower and citrus and the other strawberry - which we both shared as they were both so nice! But the food, well, we both ordered spaghetti bolognese, but considering how my stomach can cause me pain whenever I eat certain foods, I wanted to put it to the test and try the gluten free version on the spaghetti bolognese to see if I'd not have any pain/bloating as carbs and greasy food seem to be the main ones that give me pain/make me bloated. So when the food came out, I was given pasta bolognese, PASTA. Guess who was not impressed as it clearly stated 'SPAGHETTI' on the menu. The waitress said that is gluten free spaghetti, and I said, no, you can get gluten free spaghetti, this is pasta. They asked if I wanted anything else, and I said erm no. They shouldn't put Spaghetti bolognese as a gluten free option when it isn't even spaghetti! I was honestly SO not happy. Adam bless him, swapped his dish with mine and ate the gluten free pasta that honestly tasted like cardboard...Won't be eating there again! As even the prices are over priced! I loved the drinks but really disliked the food. Afterwards, we headed to Jam Jar the ice cream parlour and had a nice sundea each there (REVIEW COMING SOON!) and then had cocktails at the Slug and Lettuce where there was an 80's night.

Well that concludes March! See you next month, well, in the next post!

Travel | Backhaus&Co. Comedy Night Coventry

Backhaus&Co. Comedy Night Coventry
Backhaus&Co. Comedy Night Coventry

If your from Coventry, you might know about Fargo Village, if not, then you definitely NEED to read this post here. If you have heard/been to Fargo Village before, you'll know about the Backhaus&Co. coffee shop! I honestly didn't even know that they hosted a comedy night every month - and I am definitely one that's always up for a laugh, as watching comedians is literally one of my favourite things to do, especially during my teen years. Lee Evans will forever be my all time favourite, next to Jack Whitehall & Russell Howard. Anyway, enough of them, let's talk about the show and the acts that performed during the show...

Backhaus&Co. Comedy Night Coventry

Within the coffee shop, they cater for both vegan and non vegan eaters. With a few different types of vegan cakes, cooked vegetables, alcoholic drinks and chicken wings. I didn't try the vegan cake but definitely plan on having a slice next time I go in there for a pot of tea!

Backhaus&Co. Comedy Night Coventry

The show was opened up & introduced by Michael Dryburgh, which honestly amused me when he introduced himself up to the stage! The first thing I said when I heard his Scottish accent was "He sounds like David Tennant!" this guy was honestly quite amusing and he was telling us all about his trip to A&E and basically was taking the mick out on himself, but it was rather funny!

Backhaus&Co. Comedy Night Coventry

The next act was Adele Cliff, a girl from Cambridge who studied at Warwick University, who is also a vegan who never was able to watch Disney films as a child - someone needs to take this girl to Disneyland!! There was one joke that she mentioned about shag bands & a tamogotchi that actually had me howling! Considering how this girl has been told she is immature, I honestly think she has some pretty amusing jokes and I like her unique personality which is presented through her material. Definitely one to go and watch! I also got to interview Adele on a few questions too:

"What started you off into comedy?"

I did a lot of sketches and student radio when I was at uni (in Warwick) and eventually I started to branch out on my own doing stand up. I've always loved being silly and writing jokes and you seem less mad if you do that in front of an audience, as opposed to on trains or in supermarkets.

"Who's your favourite comedian and why?"

Me, it's important to believe in yourself. (I love loads of comedians, it's hard to pick a favourite.)

"What's the worst joke you've told?"

My answer to the previous question.

"Where do you get your inspiration from for jokes?"

I do one liners, so kinda all over the place. I tend to pick out a few topics every time I write and try and get as many funny things out about each of them. Also, I like embarrassing my sisters, so if I think something will embarrass them, I feel inspired.

"Where would you like to see yourself in a years time?"

Probably still in a mirror, I doubt hologram technology will have developed much further by then.

"What's the best highlight so far from doing comedy?"

Probably being in the finals of the UK Pun Championships, there were 1,200 people there cheering and we were competing head to head in a boxing ring! It was nuts.

Backhaus&Co. Comedy Night Coventry

You can find Adele on YouTube here - one to watch if you love all the puns! Also find her on Instagram & Twitter here.

There were two more acts on at the show. We managed to watch Ben Hanlin who was a magician but was also rather funny! He did some pretty impressive card tricks and one of the world's most dangerous tricks of a tail in a bag and absolutely NAILED IT! Okay, maybe I'm jumping in on the puns here too...hehee. But that guy was so good we didn't leave until the very end. I would of love to have seen the last act, but unfortunately, I had to be up early for work the next day so that was a bummer I couldn't stay for the entire event. You can find all the events for Fargo Village here and Backhaus&Co here.

Thanks for reading! I'd definitely love to attend this comedy night again, just a shame it was on a Tuesday! As a Friday or Saturday would of been more convenient and I would of stayed for the whole thing! But either way it was a great night and tickets are only £4! Decent price for the entertainment your get! Even though I didn't have enough time to see the entire show, it was very entertaining and would recommend it to anyone who loves comedy or a bit of a laugh! Thanks to the guys at Backhaus&Co for inviting me along to this hilarious night!

Beauty | Krasr Black Head Remover

Krasr Black Head Remover
Krasr Black Head Remover

Hello you beautiful people! I bet your wondering what the heck is this contraption about!? Well, I've been trying this little gadget out for the last few weeks and along with it being such fun pulling black heads out, it's such a fascinating tool to have in your beauty cabinet! Read on to see how I got on with it and what funny things happened.

Krasr Black Head Remover

This little gadget I first opened up over on my Snapchat (IsobelCeline) if you haven't already added me over there, as some funny parts of my life happen there. If you like cute dogs, blogger mail, random snaps and the odd rampage about things, then you'll like what I post! Anyway, when I first showed this unboxing on my Snapchat, I tried it out how your supposed to, but also had a bit of fun and got it stuck to my nose! Hahaa! It pulled out a couple of my blackheads, but I have quite clear skin so it wasn't so successful on my skin, but like I said, it still pulled out a few considering how tight my pores are!

Krasr Black Head Remover

So, of course I had to put it to the test and try it on Adam's nose! Which was actually really fun and satisfying! Is anyone else satisfied and completely comfortable by picking your partners spots or blackheads? I honestly find it so satisfying - don't judge me hahaa! So trying this out on Adam's pores was actually quite fun in a strange way. But I have to say, the only way I could describe seeing the blackheads come out was that they looked like worms! It was so strange! This little gadget has 3 buttons - The power button, minus button and plus button. The minus and plus buttons control how much suction you want to use. I tend to use it on 2 or 3, as if i use 4 or 5 it's just too powerful and leaves a red mark where you've put it and honestly looks like a hickey, and no one wants them to show to they! This also works on spots sometimes too, but make sure you pop your spot first before you but the suction over it as other wise it can cause it to bleed because of the pressure - that's what me and Adam realised when we tried it on spots.

Krasr Black Head Remover

It charges easily and comes with a USB charger that slots into the bottom of the gadget. It also comes with three different shaped heads and a rounded silver head one which is based on cooling the area you've gone over. It's such a good little thing to have, as it certainly saves you money on nose pore strips that hardly ever work! This is definitely a product I'd recommend, I'd just be careful as to how powerful the suction level you use as it can mark your skin. I've also got you guys a cheeky little discount on this Krasr Black Head Remover too! Use "isobel20off" at the check out for 20% discount! It retails at $69.99 but it's currently on sale for $64.95. So it's an investment but definitely one worth buying into!

Have you ever tried anything like this? How do you get rid of your blackheads?

FarGo Village Coventry
FarGo Village Coventry

Moving onto the original subject here being FarGo Village in Coventry, based on Far Gosford Street. I rarely go to this part of Coventry as I generally forget its there! But it's such a little gem to the city! It has a little, well not that little, building near the back, where you can find all sorts of quirky shops, from the likes of; a little bookshop you can go and chill in, bohemian shop, vintage stalls, comic book shop, abstract designs shop and so much more! There's also some little shops down the side as well that have unique things inside. My favourites are, the bath bomb shop and the cute little florist!

If your looking for a bite to eat there, there's a Carribean style restaurant, little cafe that sells sweet treats including macaroons - my faves!! There's also a little shop where you can get a bubble waffle and drinks called Bubble Boa! I've not yet tried anything from there, but I plan to at some point!

Fashion | Jewellery Box

Jewellery Box

Jewellery box. THE cutest jewellery brand I know! I've adored their pieces for the last two years! They're always coming out with such cute designs and even lovely classy pieces too! Which is exactly the theme I was going for when I chose these two pieces.

Jewellery Box
Jewellery Box

If you've read Fashionista Chic for a while, you'll understand my obsession for claddagh themed jewellery - as the family on my Mum's side are Irish, so that makes me half Irish. My Mum bought me my first claddagh ring when I turned 14. I literally never took it off! I absolutely adored it - especially because it was silver with a lovely crystal inside the heart. Silver jewellery has to be my all time favourite type of jewellery. This necklace reminds me of that ring my Mum gave me (which I still have sitting in my jewellery box in fact). So it's quite a sentimental piece. I love that, when you have a piece of jewellery that has a certain meaning to it. The design and details on this necklace is stunning! With the tiny little crystals around the arms and within the heart - it's just a lovely design I had to have in my jewellery box! Seeing as I have 2 claddagh rings, a necklace was the next best thing to have in the same design! Matchy matchy of course.

Jewellery Box

This ring is also a lovely little addition to my jewellery box. It reminds me of a tiara, and I love tiara styled rings. I've wanted the one that's in Pandora, but this one is definitely a cheaper and just as good alternative! I wear this ring quite a lot actually! Rings are something I have to wear everyday! If I leave the house without a ring, I feel like a part of my fingers is missing as odd as it sounds! So I'm always wearing rings. This is definitely a new favourite! You can wear it with any outfit as well as of course it goes with everything.

Jewellery Box

How super cute is the brown paper box and packaging! I love this type of packaging. Especially at Christmas time - even though that's month away yet! It's just so cute and old fashioned but in an updated way - love it! Have you ever bought anything from Jewellery Box? What's your favourite piece?

Fashion | Teddy Bear Jumper

OOTD

It may be March but it's still cold! I'm currently writing this whilst there is about 4 inches of snow outside - it was definitely a lot warm when I shot this outfit in February with Adam. I want to go for a location that went with the colour scheme of my outfit but with a bit of architecture thrown in.

OOTD
OOTD
OOTD

As I've said in my previous fashion post, I LIVE in this coat, as you can see you can even style up a casual outfit with this coat and make it look stylish and classy. Black jeans are always a staple in my wardrobe and these are actually my only pair I own! (From Primark of course) I love the skinny fit and how comfortable they are, adding in a gold detail belt makes all the difference too and brings the outfit together more. Can you tell I'm liking the camel colour lately as well as black? This scarf from H&M I wear every single day! It's such a cosy scarf and I've been looking for one like this for like a year, but I'm really fussy when it comes to the right material, feel and style of these scarfs, and this one ticks all the boxes! The same goes for my little rucksack I ordered off ASOS during Christmas is one of my little go to bags when I'm out for a long day out, it's like a mini tardis and fits everything I need in it!

OOTD
OOTD

This jumper is actually SO snuggly and warm! I've honestly worn this so many times! It even came to Liverpool with me - which you can see in this vlog. I've even wore it to work on dress down Friday's so many times with my timberland style boots. It's even a great jumper to just throw on when your lounging in the house or just walking the dog in the cold weather as it's just so cosy and warm. This baker boy hat also brings the outfit together nicely and it's an accessory that I have also been living in. I was scrolling through ISAWITFIRST and came across it in the sale for £5! I haven't worn a hat like this since I was like 12! I used to live in these style of hats as a kid and I wonder why I ever stopped wearing them as they are so stylish and retro - which is very much my style!

OOTD
OOTD

Just a quick mention on my necklace and ring that your can't actually see that well, they are also accessories I've been wearing a lot and I will be writing a completely separate blog post on them in more detail. For now, see you in my next post and thank you for reading!

Beauty | Eye Wake Collagen Gel

As of the last few months, I've tried many different types of skincare products, I am still in the process of that to find something that really sticks in my daily routine. This Eye Wake collagen gel for under and around your eyes has been my latest test over the past few weeks...

During the first time using this gel, I found it rather cooling for my eyes and helped smooth over the tired bags under my eyes. My main focus on the care for the skin around my eyes and bags, is to hydrate them and make the skin brighter, this is something this product didn't do. Okay, it's a collagen gel which does help your skin in some ways, but this product isn't something I would repurchase due to the fact it's not something I need in my routine. It's more for people that want to get more collagen into their skincare routines. This product is good for that side of things, but I'm more for looking for a product that hydrates the skin and brightens my eye area up. I would recommend this product if your looking to add collagen more to your skincare routine, but not if you want to help your tired eyes, dry skin or brightening your eye area.

As for the packaging, it's nice and simple, easy pump action to use and there's a fair bit of product in the bottle to keep you going for ages. This product in all honesty just isn't for me, but hey, if your looking for a products that has collagen in it for your eyes, it's definitely something you should try. It's more a product for those that want to get rid of wrinkles, add some Vitamin E or help reduce puffy eyes.

Fashion | A New Direction Within My Personal Style

Classy Outfit

And the fashion post are BACK! Finally! I've not shot an outfit for around 4 months! I've honestly missed it so much and posting about my new favourite pieces in my wardrobe...But recently, since I've worked in an office, my personal style has took a turn for the more professional and classy style which has always been one of my favourite ways of dressing. I wanted to shoot in a location that was somewhere that was just me all over but also within the outfit. As I'm a country girl at heart, the canal was the perfect place to shoot, even though this outfit isn't really something you'd wear down the canal. But I wanted to showcase this outfit in a way that expresses a part of me within in personality as well as style.

Classy Outfit
Classy Outfit
Classy Outfit

Moving onto the actually outfit itself...This coat is the main coat I've lived in throughout Winter to be honest! It's such a statement coat that keeps me warm from my neck to my shins. It was such a good piece to invest in from Primark that's for sure! I wear this to work, days out, shopping, literally everywhere as it just a piece that goes so well with literally every outfit!

The same goes for my gorgeous Valentino rockstud dupe handbag. It's my most used and warn bag to the point where I would be tempted to buy the real deal I use it that much. I'm dying to purchase a real designer handbag, but other things take priority of course, one day though!

Classy Outfit
Classy Outfit
Classy Outfit

Let's talk about the main attraction in this outfit which is of course this gorgeous set from Popjulia that I have literally worn to death! I've warn this in the office, shopping, meals out etc. It's so classy and trendy. The sleeves of the jumper are absolutely stunning with the lace detail, I've worn this jumper with so many other outfits too, I've been loving versatile pieces over the last few months too, especially casual but classy outfits. The pinafore dress itself is so lovely and fitted, it can be quite hard to get into due to my shoulders, but there is a side zip (sometimes gets stuck) but I can understand why it's designed like it is so that it hugs your figure in all the right places and shows off your curves. I also need to mention the additional accessory this dress has, the little golden circle style looking pin adds that little extra class and colour to the dress itself.

Hope you enjoyed my first fashion post of the year and expect more to come that's for sure! I'm so glad the fashion posts and my blog in general is coming back together again, it makes me feel a sense of accomplishment and also makes me feel like I'm slowly getting back to my organised self again - guess who's back baby!

Have a good day where ever you are!
