Blogger Event | The Cosy Club Christmas - Coventry

The Cosy Club Christmas - Coventry

Ahh...The Cosy Club. A firm favourite I've always loved to go for food and/or drinks all year round, especially at Christmas! Every year, myself, the girls and our partners used to and still do, have a meal all together where we all have Christmas dinner together in Christmas jumpers and opening Christmas gifts from each other, and The Cosy Club was one of our favourite places to go to! So when myself and Adam had the opportunity to try out their delicious 'Seriously Glorious Christmas Menu' I was more than happy to attend the Christmas evening surrounded by beautiful vintage decor and beautiful divine smells wafting from the kitchen! Lets dig in!

For starters we were greeted by a lovely gentleman wearing a waist coat who thoroughly informed us of what different menus, events and parties they hold over the festive period including a 1920's Gatsby Gladrags New Years Eve Shingdig at £54.95, where you'd be welcomed by cocktails and canapes on arrival, alongside a 4 course meal and prosecco toast at midnight, complimented by a lovely live 1920's band and a little or a lot in my case of dancing! I'd love to go to this myself it sounds so fun!

Onto the actual menu itself, the 'Seriously Glorious Christmas Menu' priced at £27.95 for 3 courses that are available between 22nd November - 24th December and there's also 15% off food on selected dates!

For the start of our meal (food wise), we were brought a sharer platter built up of heavenly treats! There were Cumberland pigs and blankets (so tasty!), slow-cooked pork belly bites (amazing!), baked Camembert with olive oil infused sourdough - this cheese and bread was to die for it was so nice!! We also dug into the halloumi and sweetcorn bites that were different and complemented the dish very nicely! The two things left me and Adam wasn't a fan of was the Mushroom, Tarragon and Chestnut Pate and Smoked Salmon Blinis, due to us both not liking salmon nor pate - regardless we still tried it - still wasn't a fan. But the platter itself was a lovely mixture and filled half my stomach already!

Onto mains, I went for the Norfolk Turkey & Smoked Bacon Pie with mash and vegetables with gravy, meanwhile Adam had the slow Roasted Outdoor Bred Pork Belly with dauphinoise potatoes, red cabbage, watercress and red wine gravy. By this point when I'd tucked in, my stomach was majorly bloated, so as tasty and as beautiful this dish was, I struggled to finish even a quarter of it. It was so lovely and I wish I could of took it home to finish off! Adam certainly enjoyed his pork belly though!

Puddings! Everyone has that little bit of space left for puddings. By this point I was so bloated I looked about 4 months pregnant! I just wanted to enjoy the delicious food! I went for the Limoncello Cheesecake topped with raspberry coulis and beautifully presented crushed meringue. This had to be the best cheesecake I'd ever tasted! Adam went with the Chocolate Brownie & Cinder Toffee Trifle with chocolate fudge sauce and salted caramel cream, which arrived in the cutest cup and saucer with a dainty doily. To say the least, we were as stuffed as Santa's present sack!

Adam washed his dinner down with a lovely mulled wine, meanwhile I finished off my Cherry Bakewell mocktail. We ended the night with mince pies and the cutest gift bags with Christmas treats!

The drinks also available on arrival are Mulled Wine, Mulled Cider of Durello Fizz. Drinks wise during your meal, you can order 6 bottles of wine & get your 7th bottle free - great for large groups, like for a work do! They also do beer, such as an ice bucket of 10 caple road ciders for £36.00. The cocktail pitchers also available are Cherry Bakewell (£22.95) - I had this, but due to me being the designated driver that evening, I had a gorgeous mock-tail version that was SO SO good! Definitely recommend the Cherry Bakewell, with or without alcohol!! They also have the English Garden Cocktail at £22.25 or Pink Lemonade Mocktail for £9.95, or anything on the drinks menu is also available!

The Cosy Club Christmas - Coventry
Got to have a bit of Christmas cracker fun!
The Cosy Club is a lovely place to go for a meal or an evening drink, so book your table for your Christmas meal here as you won't be disappointed by what they have behind the bar or cooking up in the kitchen for you!

Lifestyle | What Happened In September

It's November and we're looking back at September. Where is the time going honestly?! This year is honestly flying by!

September was quite a chilled month looking back, but some fun times also happened, so lets see what happened in September...

1st of September myself, Adam and my Dad headed to the airfield whilst he had a flying lesson before we headed to Sywell Aerodrome - LAA Rally, where it's full of all sorts of different shapes and sizes of aircraft. It was a nice warm sunny day for it and a nice change to a day out! The same weekend, me and Adam went shopping and tried out the new Zizzi's, by the way, get yourself £10 off your bill on your next visit here. Your welcome!

The next few days after, me & Adam booked a few days to Krakow, Poland! We have a few polish friends who gave us recommendations of what to see and visit, but more about that in what happened in October!

Me & Adam spent a nice chilled weekend away up in Skegness, visiting Fantasy Island, welly walks in the wind along the beach. No matter what the weather or where we are, me and Adam make any situation onto a fun time and create such fun memorable times. We even played crazy golf in one of  the arcades! Bearing in mind it rained half the day. Shows no matter what the weather you can always have fun!

The next event during September was the MUA & Martini's event at Samoan Joes with the Coventry Bloggers. I went for a galactic sunset look that was amazing! The palette the lovely make up artist used was the bPerfect Cosmetics Carnival Palette and i hoenstly  need it in my collection of palette's - read the blog post here.

Me and Adam went to a few places for some country walks. We went to Brandon Woods and Coombe Abbey. During the walk around Brandon Woods my poor dog became so ill and I was so worried about him he was ill for a week with gastroenteritis - I've experienced it myself and it's horrible to have! My poor baby, but thankfully he's okay now.

We managed to get ourselves down to The Monster UK at the NEC Birmingham which was an expensive ticket, but honestly SO much fun! Who doesn't love loud music, gigantic inflatable ball pits and a massive inflatable course to have fun on! We loved it and would definitely will be going again and will be taking more people next time! It was so fun!

OMG! I almost forgot! Me, Stacie, Zowie and Rosalind went to see Jason Derulo in September too! My gosh it was SO good! Me and Stacie pretty much danced the night away as per usual, as we do at every concert!

The month was finished off with a Sunday of golf at the driving range in Brandon Woods. Which was a nice different start to a Sunday afternoon, and a nice cheap day out for £5.50 for 120 balls to hit across a field. I love trying out new things, especially with Adam. Always cherish the time you have with your loved ones.

Thanks for reading! What did you get up to in the month of September?

Blogger Event | The Greatest Student Night With West Orchards

The Greatest Student Night

Being a student honestly has so many benefits! Such a shame I'm not one anymore, but I was able to relive being a student for one night only at The Greatest Student Night at West Orchards in my home town of Coventry.

The night started off with being greeted with leaflets with all the information on all the best stores with discounts, The Body Shop being amazing at 30% off, erm hell yes! W were given, when I say we, myself, Emily from Drained Beauty and Saffron from PixieBowUK. We were given 2 Admit One (of course to go with the circus theme) tickets to use on any of the treat carts that were based around West Orchards through out the night, from Candyfloss (the best!), toffee apples or fresh batches of popcorn! All from the lovely staff at Smiles Better Entertainment.

As for the actual entertainment during the night, there were fire breathers, roller skater girls handing out shots, and a few other fab looking performers! I love how it was The Greatest Showman themed, made me want to watch it even more - yes, I'm that one person that hasn't watched it yet!

We started the shopping spree in Debenhams and they were kindly giving out 2 fabulous little luxury samples to Beauty Card holders! I thought I'd try something new and picked up the Estee Lauder eye cream and the Dior face cream.

We wandered around a few shops including Debenhams and The Body Shop, and we decided to try out some food in West Orchards, of course, Auntie Anne's was the perfect candidate with their sweet smelling, mouth watering cinnamon pretzel sticks...Craving them now as I'm writing this! My absolute faves! As soon as we sat down, an unexpected balloon drop happened to drop from right above our heads and we were soon drowning in balloons - which added to the fun of the night. There was also a love DJ with laser lights that added to the whole vibe of the evening!

I also vlogged the entire evening, so look out for that on my YouTube channel - Subscribe here!

Does your local area throw events like this for Students?

Beauty | Smooth Skin Muse IPL Hair Removal Device Review

Smooth Skin Muse IPL Hair Removal Device
Smooth Skin Muse IPL Hair Removal Device

Who doesn't love a good pamper night? There's a fair few products and things I like to involve and achieving smooth silky skin is definitely one of them!

I like to use skin serums, face cream, body butter and hand cream to keep my skin smooth and hydrated, but most of all, my latest addition to my routine is the Smooth Skin Muse IPL device! It's been a brilliant addition to a nice pamper night to myself, as I need to take that time out to look after myself, and definitely one night every week (mainly Sunday) to myself to have a pamper and prepare for the new week is lovely"

Moving onto the IPL device by Smooth Skin itself has been such a great addition that I never thought I'd use or even be interested in as I always thought it would hurt, when in fact, it actually doesn't! The first time you use it your skin may be quite sensitive to the warm flashes of light to the skin, but what I've found with the IPL device is that it has a feather mode that basically sets it into gentle mode, which for me with sensitive skin is an absolute godsend! Especially on my arms and under arms. If you follow me on Instagram, you would of seen me trying this out on my insta stories - especially on my arm pits, which of course the first time doing so was rather sensitive, but honestly, once you've done it a few times it just feels like warmth on your skin, which on a cold evening is bliss!

Whilst using the device against my skin a detector lights up automatically and selects the highest possible intensity for the area of skin you wish to cover. So this is a good indication of how much intensity of light is being used. I shave the hairs on my body 2-3 times a week, and use the IPL device once a week, and after the first use on my arms, I saw and felt a nice result of super smooth skin on my arms which is lovely to feel haha!

As for legs, this I have t say is my favourite area of my body to use the IPL device on, as it's so easy to just click & flash all around your legs. The whole process does take some time, which on a pamper night is nice to do. Especially when your in your bed watching TV or in my case YouTube, it's a chill time on a pamper night to use it.

Packaging and the design itself is actually stunning! I love the black and gold glossy design of the device and how easy it is to use and take anywhere. You simply plug it in, turn it on and set it to the gentle mode if needs be and away you go! I love the silky smooth carry pouch it also comes with. Good for when you want to travel with it!

Overall, if you were to choose going to get laser hair removal done or a DIY at home device, I'd definitely chose the Smooth Skin Muse IPL device, as in the long run, it saves you money and is a nicer way of removing hair in your own home comforts. Just make sure you shave all areas you wish to use the device on before use, as otherwise it will burn the hair on the area. If you want to shave less, then this is definitely an investment device to look into having, I wish I had one sooner!

The Smooth Skin IPL Device retails at £349.00 in Boots & the official Smooth Skin website, which when you think about it, in the long run, is definitely a better idea and this device certainly gave me smooth skin!

Have you tried any hair removal devices before?

Lifestyle | What Happened In August

Summer In The City

August? Yes, I'm that far behind with posts the fact that I'm posting this in October...Summer please come back even though Autumn I love you! So, let's see what happened in August!

August started off with a jump session at Red Kangeroo with Adam, as we were invited down to review the new trampoline park that opened up in Coventry. It was fun but would of been better if they allocated things for adults too as I've been to Rush in Birmingham and it's perfect and big enough for all ages! Anyway, there's a vlog of our time there here - it's rather amusing in some parts as I fall off and fall over things in the video...

Myself and Stacie head down to Summer In The City during the month of August and honestly had so much fun! We met the likes of SopDoesNails and Imogenation. We also saw loads of YouTubers whilst we were there as well! At first we didn't know what to think of it but we honestly really enjoyed the day after it all! You can buy discounted things whilst your there and pick up loads of cool goodies! Watch the fun in this video here!

Not too long after our fun at Summer In The City, a few days later I had my Driving Test and passed!! I kept it a secret from everyone apart from Adam and Stacie ALL day, bearing in mind I went for a Spa day with my Mum at Bosworth Hall and had a lovely back massage and afternoon tea with her and tried so hard to keep it a secret until I got home as I wanted to tell my Mum and Dad together that I passed my test! As I rarely get my parents together in one room (separated as I was child, wouldn't have it any other way!) I wanted that moment where I could tell them together and honestly they were both so proud and my dad cried with happiness he was that proud of me! So it was so lovely to be able to tell them together! You can watch my vlog here of what Adam did for me when we through a party for Passing My Driving Test here

I also had the opportunity to go to The Body Shop event in Coventry with the Coventry Bloggers and honestly had a lot of fun in there with making do of what they had prop wise in store and creating a little flat lay work shop and just being overall creative! Met some lovely girls whilst we were there too! This was the day of my party also, so I couldn't stay long due to getting back for that! The same weekend me and Adam went to Charlcote Park which was such a cute day out where we saw baby deer's - baby Bambi's in my eyes! It was such a cute day out as well as grabbing some bargains at Wellsbourne Market before hand!

Thinking back, I actually did quite a lot in August! Myself and Adam also went to Stratford-Upon-Avon and hired out a boat which was so fun, but we went down this shallow part which we shouldn't have and I was so scared that the boat was going to get stuck! Thankfully Adam and his boat driving skills came in handy and got us out of there! We went quite far down the river and saw this beautiful massive house that used to belong to a celebrity! I wish that one day I have a house like that!

That pretty much concludes what happened in August! How did your summer go? Are you excited for Autumn/Winter?

Blogger Event | MUA & Martini's Event with Samoan Joes

Samoan Joes

What better way to get ready for a night out than with a glass of bubbly and having your make-up done! Samoan Joes is one of my favourite places to go out for drinks on a night out in Coventry. They've always got some sort of different event on along with great music and buzzing environment on every night out!

Samoan Joes
Samoan Joes

So of course, make-up and martini's in my favourite place was definitely something I didn't want to miss out on! I had my make-up done by the lovely Riarna who you can follow on Instagram here. She did such an incredible job of doing my make-up! I adored how she had created her own eye look that day and said could I have something similar as I always go for simplistic make-up and wanted something rather bold for a change! I have so many palette's at home and need to experiment more, so this inspired me to use my pallette's more - especially my Morphe Jaclyn Hill palette I got for my birthday!

If your from the Coventry/Brimingham area and are looking for somewhere different for a night out that always has awesome events on, definitely check out Samoan Joes Tiki Bar - I'm there most Saturday's I love the place that much! They also have amazing cocktails too - read that blog post here. Pornstar Martini is my all time favourite! But definitely try out Rude Jude in the strawberry cup! Such quirky tropical vibes with all their cocktails!

Lifestyle | What Happened In July

Isobel Celine

Wow...we're in September and I'm writing what happened in July! Well, hasn't time just flown by! I wish I had more time to just sit and write some times, but work and looking after a house and my poorly pooch had to come first over the last few weeks! Plus I've been taking some time out so I could spend more time with my family. Me and Adam also had a weekend away in September to spend some time out and also to spend time with my grandparents. So, that's us caught up on where I've been! let's get on to what happened in July!

July started off with having my brother and his girlfriend over for taco's during the world cup was on. It was lovely to have them over and to finally eat some delicious tacos! I've been loving spending time with family, as time is precious and so is family time, so I make the most of the time I get with family as much as possible. As you never know what can happen.

The second week of July, myself, Adam, my Dad and a few work mates went down to Enstone Airfield to have a go at flying a plane for the afternoon! It was a brilliant afternoon, for everyone else hahaa! If you watch my vlog from the day here, you'll completely understand why I didn't enjoy it as much as everyone else!

The following week was my 21st Birthday! And wow did that go off with a bang! I basically celebrated for about a week? One day was at work and my Dad covered my office in balloons and people got me cards and presents which was so sweet! The next I spent the day with my Mum opening presents and going shopping, then a meal at my favourite place, The Farmhouse with my Dad, then the weekend of my 21st Birthday, me, Adam, Stacie and Sophie went down to London for the weekend and honestly had THE best weekend! It was such a lovely weekend! You can watch my 21st Birthday Vlog here and What I Got For My 21st Birthday Haul here.

The next weekend I drove up to Skegness with my Dad (still a learner at this stage - passed my test in August! Wait until What Happened In August and I'll talk about that in more depth!) so I was quite proud of driving all that way apart from the motorways my Dad drove those parts, but other than that I did quite well if I do say so myself!

Near the final weeks of July, it was my Mum's Birthday, so myself and older brother treated her and the family to a lovely Indian at The Farmhouse (of course), which she really loved! Myself and Adam in the same week went down to Memorial Park and had a nice tray of chips and took some pictures in the beautiful sunshine and boiling heatwave that was happening at the time! We also had a lovely meal at Marco Pierre White Steakhouse in Birmingham with Adam, Brogan and Mason, we all got very drunk on this night hahaa! You can watch that vlog here.

That concludes what happened in July! See you in August's post - even if we are in September!

Lifestyle | Light Bites Chips Review

Light Bites

Are you on a gluten free diet, have Coelliac disease or just like to cut gluten out of your diet anyway? Well, even if you just like trying new things that are super healthy and low in calories, these snazzy crisps and bars from Lights Bites are definitely worth a try! Read on if you'd like to know more...

I first tried these chips at the BlogConLDN event a few months back and thought they were quite alright! So when I was sent out all the different flavours to try as well as chocolate cookie caramel flavour bars! *HEART EYE EMOJI* I love anything that has caramel in it - just SO good! So I tried this bar out and it was rather chewy, not too much chocolate in it and feel like it needed to be slightly sweeter - maybe that's just me as I have a sweet tooth at times! Definitely a nice little snack to keep in your handbag for when your peckish! You can buy these bars at your local Superdrug. Read more here.

Light Bites

Let's start with how the flavours were, I had 4 different flavours to try out. The first one I tried sounded intriguing and tasty, it was Sweet and Smokey Chipotle which had a strange taste in all honestly, it was like a bland salami kind of flavour, but it had quite a lot of flavouring on it which made it slightly better. Definitely could do with a bit of salt thrown into flavour it up some more!

Roasted Shallot and Cider Vinegar was very much like salt and vinegar without the salt hahaa! I wasn't a fan of this due to how sour it was with the vinegar flavour, as I don't like vinegar unless it's on chip shop chips! Can anyone else related to this? Just me? But yes, this flavour isn't for me, but better for someone who likes salt and vinegar crisps!

Pesto and Sundried Tomato was my actual favourite out of all the flavours! As this flavour tasted like spaghetti bolognese! And that's a dish I LOVE! So this is a firm favourite you guys should definitely try out! By the way, these packets only retail to 99p in Superdrug and they're all under 100 calories - bonus if your watching your calories or just want to eat healthier!

Cheddar Cheese and Chutney was the first flavour I tried at the BlogConLDN event and this was actually full of cheesey flavours! So this flavour was quite alright but not my most favourite taste next to the pesto and sundried tomato!

Light Bites

In all honesty, me being a salt addict, it was lacking in salt and so was all the other flavours. They are more for someone who is on a gluten free diet, or has coelliac or best for someone who gets bloated easily - I get bloated easily but these just don't do it for me due to the lack in flavour. They're a good on the go snack, especially if your on a diet! So they are super healthy to have as they're made out of soya and chickpea! So no potatoes involved! Definitely recommend if your vegan or vegetarian, on a diet or just want healthier snacks!

Into conclusion, out of the entire flavours, the only one I'd buy again would have to be Pesto and Sundried Tomato - firm favourite! Honestly give them a try!

You can buy the Light Bites crisps in any Superdrug store and online below:

Fashion | Autumn Is Fast Approaching...

Charlecote Park

Autumn is definitely fast approaching, but I'm not complaining as Autumn is my favourite season of the year! As I love wearing autumnal colours, knitwear, over the knee boots and best of all coats! I honestly have the biggest coat collection! So I love the colder months as I get to wear all my lovely coats! I love walking through the wilderness with my wellies, listening to the crisp brown, red and golden leaves under my feet as I step on them, kicking the leaves into the air is something I adore doing so much!

Charlecote Park

Charlecote Park

These photos were taken at a lovely park called Charlecote Park in Warwickshire. It has such beautiful grounds with stunning architecture, gorgeous deer which a lot of the babies looked like Bambi's! So cute! Me and Adam got super close to them even though I was quite anxious a first that they were going to run at us, but they were so calm and walked across us a fair distance ahead of us - managed to get a snap of them too!

Charlecote Park

As for my outfit, this cute little checkered number was a £13 bargain from Primark that I will surely live in over the Autumn period in many different ways. This style with the jump, belt and boots give such an on trend, warm and autumnal vibe that's great for any occasion from days out to the office but with little black boots or nude satin boots which I do wear to the office! My little blue bag is a firm favourite I've had for a while from Zaful and is a go to and has been for well over a year as it fits honestly everything that I need in it! I think navy blue is going to end up being my new favourite colour throughout autumn that's for sure!

I honestly love the preppy vibes from this outfit, as it gives such different vibes, from classy ti chic and college casual to office ready! Perfect outfit for autumn!

Fashion | The Little Things In Life With Jewellery Box

Jewellery Box

It's honestly the most simple things in life that make me happy. Walks down the canal with my dog, picking blackberries for a neighbour, or even making someone smile. The simple things in life are the best.

Jewellery Box
Jewellery Box

Speaking of simple things, dainty simplistic jewellery is something I've grown towards more and more in my personal style this year. This is where Jewellery Box comes in and creates such affordable, simplistically beautiful pieces you can wear around the clock!

I love personalised jewellery items like the little bracelet I'm wearing above that actually has an 'I' engraved on the silver circle. The bracelet itself fits my wrist so well, as this is something I struggle with, with bracelets or watches on my wrist as they never seem to fit, except this one! Perfect little piece to add to my Jewellery Box - trinket dish shaped as a unicorn shall I say! They are only £6.15 as well, so super cheap including the engravement! Buy bracelet here.

I'm wearing some very classy pearl drop earrings from Jewellery Box, which I've been loving wearing to the office to add a classy dainty touch to my outfit. They're such a bargain as well for £9.45 being sterling silver and a crystal stud. Buy your pair here.

How adorable is this little polka dot crop top though?! I've worn this a fair few times whilst the heat wave was here. It's such a nice fit and you can adjust the ties to however you want it to fit too!

My only denim shorts that I lived in during the heat of summer months. I love to wear my Gucci belt with anything and everything I can in my wardrobe. I just love it so much and its such a timeless piece I'll keep forever.

What little things in life do you love?
